Close the Gap is an international design competition to broaden the dialogue of alternative solutions for sustainable urban living. The competition focused on the Midtown sector of New York City’s East River Greenway - a critical missing link in Manhattan’s alternative transportation infrastructure.

Our master-planning proposal created a series new river-side focal hubs such as a marina, amphi-theatre, ferry terminal, fish farm and food markets, all linked together by a spectacular 4-stream pathway, floating high above the water. Commuters and residents can independently walk, run, skate or cycle along dedicated routes, designed around, up and over a continuous, maturely-planted green vein.
